1. Commercial On-Grid Solar Power System

Grid-connected solar for shops, offices, schools and factories that use most of their power in daytime. Lowest cost per unit, net or gross metering as per DISCOM rules.

Best for: Offices, showrooms, schools, cold stores and factories with steady daytime load and reliable grid supply.

2. Commercial Off-Grid Solar Power System

Standalone solar with battery storage for sites where the grid is absent, weak or very costly to extend. Power is fully independent of the DISCOM.

Best for: Remote farms, telecom and site offices, rural clinics, warehouses and construction camps.

3. Commercial Semi-Hybrid Solar Power System

Solar plus a modest battery bank that backs up only the critical loads (billing, lights, servers, CCTV) while the rest of the premises runs on solar and grid.

Best for: Shops, clinics, small offices and institutions that face short power cuts and need essentials to stay on.

4. Commercial Hybrid Solar Power System

Solar, battery and grid managed by one intelligent hybrid inverter: grid savings when the grid is on, automatic backup when it fails.

Best for: Hospitals, hotels, IT and service offices, labs and businesses where downtime is expensive.

FAQ

Commercial solar: frequently asked questions

Why is 5 kW the starting size for commercial systems?

Most shops, offices and small factories have a connected load and monthly consumption that a system below 5 kW cannot meaningfully offset. Starting at 5 kW keeps the design, metering and paperwork worthwhile; the right size is fixed only after studying your bills and roof.

Which commercial solar system should my business choose?

If the grid is stable and the goal is a lower bill, on-grid is usually the most economical. If power cuts affect only a few essential loads, semi-hybrid fits. If outages are frequent and costly, choose hybrid. Where there is no grid at all, off-grid is the option. SB TECH helps you compare these for your site.

Is the PM Surya Ghar subsidy available for commercial systems?

No. PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is for residential households. Commercial and industrial users may instead benefit from accelerated depreciation and other tax provisions as per current law; please confirm with your tax adviser.

What does a 0.5 MW solar power plant need?

Suitable shade-free land or large strong roofs, a grid connectivity approval, Electrical Inspectorate clearance, metering agreements and, for off-site power, open access permissions. Requirements differ by state and change over time, so they are checked at the planning stage.

Who installs the systems?

SB TECH is an authorised partner of SolarConnect India. We guide you locally in Hooghly and Kolkata, and SolarConnect plans and installs the system with qualified teams.
